Study With William Martin
A personalized email journey through the spiritual practice of parenting
Dear Parent,

I am happy to work with a limited number of students on a personal basis in a three month journey through the perils and possibilities of parenthood. In this program the student will undertake an intensive study of The Parent’s Tao Te Ching. The bulk of the work will be a personal parenting journal which is emailed to me each week. I respond to this journal with comments, questions, and suggestions and send it back. This process is repeated each week for approximately three months. In addition to the personal email study each week, the student and I will schedule three 30 minute telephone conversations - one each month during which we will explore the parenting process together.

My commitment to the student is that I will give you my dedicated attention for the period of our study together. Over the years my students have become part of an extended “family” and the connection is dear to us all. Some have come to study other subjects with us here at The Still Point. It can be a transforming experience - one that I cherish.

To apply for this opportunity, send me an email in which you describe a bit about your parenting situation, your spiritual path, and your reasons for undertaking this study at this time. We will correspond and explore the possibility of study together. I can only work with 10 students at any one time, so there is usually a waiting list until an opening occurs. It has been my experience that the timing usually works out to be “just right” for everyone

The tuition fee for the three month study including phone consultations is $750.00. Upon being accepted for the program you will be asked to pay the tuition in order to secure your slot.

However our paths may or may not cross, I wish you the greatest of blessings in the difficult, yet transforming practice of parenthood.

Children are fascinated
by the ordinary
and can spend timeless moments watching sunlight play with dust.
Their restlessness they learn from you.
It is you who are thinking of there
when you are here.
It is you who thinks of then
instead of now.
Stop.
Let your children become the teachers
and you become the student.
---
Your children may frequently change the focus
of their attention.
But this is not restlessness.
It is curiosity.
When they are doing something
they are doing only that
until they move on to the next thing.
Watch them.
Let them set the pace.
See what you can learn.
